These applications typically include one or more of the following characteristics: • Rapid deceleration • High inertia loads • Overhauling loads Dynamic braking provides increased deceleration torque. TD400 AC drives with horsepower ratings of 20HP and less only require the addition of a braking resistor. TD400 AC drives with horsepower ratings 25HP and up require the addition of both a braking resistor and an externally mounted braking unit. For higher horsepower ratings, multiple resistors and braking units are required. TECO Braking Units incorporate a robust power transistor for high duty cycles. The hinged UL Type 1 housing provides easy installation and maintenance. The power charge indicator lamp goes out when main circuit voltage drops below 50VDC. Parallel multiple units for higher HP applications.
